Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and can close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home by using a combined gross home income that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home profits won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not post any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants nsfas check are reminded to offer the proper Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning nsfas application or plan to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the nsfas status check last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
